Congruent Triangles

Congruent Triangles are triangles with three pairs of corresponding sides congruent and three pairs of corresponding angles congruent .

In other words, by translating, rotating, and/or flipping one triangle, you can get it to coincide exactly with the other triangle.

If Δ A B C is congruent to Δ D E F , then we write

Δ A B C Δ D E F .

In the figure below, Δ A B C Δ D E F , but Δ A B C is not congruent to Δ G H I .

Note also that we cannot write Δ A B C Δ D F E . The corresponding vertices should come in the right order.
