Negation

The negation of a statement $p$ is not $p$ .

The symbol $\sim$ is used to denote negation.

Negation of $p$ is not $p$ and is written as $\sim p$ .

If a statement $p$ true, then its negation $\sim p$ must be false.(and vice versa).
