Do you want to make your college applications stand out? Taking the SAT Subject Tests is a great, additional way to show colleges what you have learned during high school, and high scores on the tests can often help you land a spot in college program accepting limited students or even enable you to “test out” of a class or two. If you took Latin classes in high school, then show those college admissions associates what you have learned by taking the SAT II Latin test. Even if you aced your Latin classes, it is a good idea to refresh your Latin knowledge before you take the test to ensure you feel confident on test day.

The SAT II Latin test is a multiple-choice exam that contains between 70 and 75 questions, and you will be given one hour to complete it. You may face some questions that require you to choose the right word to complete a Latin sentence from several options and some questions that require you to translate a Latin word or sentence to English. However, since many English words were derived from Latin, you may also be quizzed on your knowledge of which Latin words many of today's English words were derived from. Other questions may have you read Latin passages and ask questions to gauge your understanding of what was written.
